The WVU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the Committee of Retired Faculty will host a virtual presentation by Dr. Nirmeen A. Sabry, Egyptian Cultural and Educational Attaché in Washington, D.C. and Director of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau on Wednesday, November 5, at 2:30 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public. Dr. Sabry will share Egypt’s across time — from the pyramids and ancient achievements to its transformation into a modern nation of progress, innovation, and leadership. Explore how Egypt’s history connects with today’s efforts in education, science, peace, and cultural diplomacy, and how the new generation is shaping Egypt’s role in the 21st century. In her role as Egyptian Cultural and Educational Attaché and Director of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau, Dr. Sabry works to strengthen academic, cultural, and scientific collaboration between Egypt and the United States, supporting Egyptian students and scholars, expanding partnerships with U.S. universities, and showcasing Egypt’s cultural heritage through diverse programs and events. Alongside her diplomatic responsibilities, she is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice at Cairo University. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice from King’s College London in 2004 and has authored more than 60 international publications. Dr. Sabry has been instrumental in national health initiatives, serving as Chair of the National Committee for Medication Management Standards at the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR), Vice President of the Scientific Council of the Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship Program at the Ministry of Health, and a member of the National Committee for the Rational Use of Antimicrobial Agents at the Egyptian Drug Authority. Her unique career bridges academia, healthcare, and diplomacy, reflecting her commitment to advancing education, cultural understanding, and scientific exchange between Egypt and the world.
