Visit Mountaineer Country Board Launches Search for New CEO, Appoints Hannah Winaught as Interim Executive Director
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Visit Mountaineer Country Convention and Visitors Bureau (VMCCVB) Board of Directors will officially launch its search for the organization's next president & chief executive officer (CEO) later this week. The search follows the announcement that President and CEO Susan Riddle will depart the organization in mid-August to become CEO of Mylan Park. During the leadership transition, VMCCVB Creative Director Hannah Winaught will serve as interim executive director, while the Board conducts a comprehensive search for the organization's next president & CEO. The Board anticipates completing the search and selecting a new chief executive by the end of the year. The search will be led by a committee comprised of board members and industry professionals, which will oversee recruitment, review applications, conduct interviews and recommend finalists to the full Board for consideration. The Board encourages qualified candidates with experience in destination leadership, nonprofit management, economic development or related fields to apply. The president & CEO serves as the chief executive of Visit Mountaineer Country, providing strategic leadership for the organization's tourism marketing, destination development, operations, financial management and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, municipal partners, hospitality businesses and community organizations to advance the organization's mission of strengthening the region's visitor economy.
