Morgantown, W.Va. — Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) is pleased to announce that travelers can now book United Express flights, operated by SkyWest Airlines, from Morgantown to Washington, D.C. and Chicago. This new offering will provide passengers with a closer-to-home travel experience that emphasizes convenience and comfort.
Flights with United Express are set to take off Dec. 13, 2024, making holiday travel even more accessible in North Central West Virginia (NCWV). Visit www.united.com to book a flight today.
The new schedule includes a total of 12 nonstop round trips per week, featuring five weekly round trips to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and seven weekly round trips to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). The service will utilize the 50-seat CRJ 200 aircraft, renowned for its comfort and performance.
In addition to enhanced flight options, MGW is undergoing multiple facility improvements designed to make air travel more enjoyable. Passengers will benefit from hassle-free airport experiences, including competitive and affordable airfare, free parking, shorter TSA lines, access to larger seating areas, and even vehicle detailing services while they travel.
"On top of the free-parking perks and other services offered at MGW, we have unveiled new floor-to-ceiling windows in the waiting area, located just beyond the TSA checkpoint. These expansive windows not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space but also provide passengers with an optimal view of aircraft takeoffs and landings," said MGW Director Jonathon Vrabel. "The added space accommodates seating for all travelers."
Considering the introduction of these new airport features and flight options, city officials anticipate that more residents will use MGW to meet their travel needs.
"These new flights and airport amenities create an enhanced experience for both current and new travelers in our region," said Morgantown City Manager Kim Haws. "We believe that the flexibility, convenience, and reliability offered through this new incredible partnership with United Express will greatly enhance travel plans for those visiting Morgantown Municipal Airport."
Once at IAD or ORD, passengers will have seamless access to United's extensive domestic and international flight network, further expanding travel possibilities.
