PACE Enterprises Announces Hire of next CEO, Reginald (“Reggie”) Jones
Morgantown WV — Following a national search, conducted in anticipation of the February 1st retirement of current CEO Greg Morris, Doreen Seamon, Chair of the Board of Directors of PACE Enterprises, Inc. (PACE) announced that the Board has selected Reginald (“Reggie”) Jones as the next CEO of PACE.
As Chair of the Selection Committee, Doreen oversaw the comprehensive search conducted by the Boland Group, a national search firm specializing in nonprofit CEO searches and Your Talent Team, a national search firm with strong roots and deep connections in West Virginia.
Doreen Seamon, owner of Seamon Law Offices and PACE Board Chair announced:
“Under Greg’s sixteen plus years of transformative leadership, PACE has enjoyed steady, sustainable growth, expanding programs and services so that adults with disabilities can find fulfillment in meaningful employment that draws on their individual strengths and passions. Greg leaves the organization in a position of strength, operationally and financially. His legacy includes the rollout of Vision 2025: a holistic approach to offering PACE clients not only a place to learn and to work, but a place to live and to save. During Greg’s tenure, PACE launched new lines of business including Secure Document Destruction and the Beehive Café. More recently PACE undertook a capital campaign allowing PACE to break ground on PACE Place, a unique state-of-the-art affordable independent living facility designed for clients with disabilities. We also launched the WV PACE Trust Fund, the first pooled supplemental needs trust in the Mountaineer State, open to all qualified West Virginians. Reggie is uniquely qualified to build upon this legacy, with over 25 years’ experience serving some of the most vulnerable citizens in our State.”
The WV community responded generously to the search consultants’ requests for referrals and stakeholder interviews, leading to consideration of over 125 potential prospective candidates nationwide. Ultimately, four thoroughly vetted candidates were presented to the Board’s Selection Committee, who conducted multiple interviews before unanimously selecting Reggie Jones.
Greg Morris, PACE’s CEO for over sixteen years, expressed his enthusiasm for Reggie’s hire:
“We are very pleased to have Reggie assume PACE’s leadership reins at such an opportune time. Reggie has dedicated his career to identifying and creating jobs and training opportunities for historically marginalized populations in West Virginia. As CEO of Recovery Point from 2019 to 2024, Reggie dramatically grew this nonprofit that serves clients with substance use disorder. Reggie expanded Recovery Point’s offerings by providing holistic services similar to those offered and envisioned by PACE: 1) supported employment opportunities, 2) supported housing and 3) transportation to and from work. In another parallel with PACE’s own expansion, Reggie also launched a licensed behavioral healthcare clinic to better serve clients.”
Reggie earned his Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from WV University in Morgantown, an Associate’s degree in Theology from Abundant Life Bible College in Charleston, and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Newburgh Theological Seminary. As the first professional Executive Director of Recovery Point, Reggie dramatically grew the number of clients served and increased Recovery Point’s Behavioral Health revenues 40% year over year, and left this $7M+ organization on track to grow another 23% in 2025.
Reggie has a strong fundraising track record, a result of forming and cultivating long term relationships at all levels in the community, government and private sectors. For the last five years, Recovery Point’s annual fundraising gala has netted an average of $75,000. Reggie is skilled in attracting large funding awards from diverse revenue sources, including private foundations and state & federal government entities. Most recently, faced with a $2M regulatory mandate, Reggie raised $1.2M over three years, including a $600,000 Congressionally Directed Spending award from Senator Joe Manchin’s Office.
Successful CEO Candidate Reggie Jones expressed his excitement upon being selected:
“I am humbled to be chosen as the next CEO of PACE and excited about building upon Greg’s legacy. PACE’s founding families knew that the organizations they started, and the money they faithfully raised year after year, would not directly benefit their own grown children. But they persevered in creating the kind of organization they’d wished could have been available to them: so that future parents would have somewhere to turn when they wanted to ensure their exceptional children could enjoy a vibrant, fulfilling life when they became adults. I’m immensely proud to continue this important work and expand both the number of clients served and employment opportunities offered. I look forward to meeting PACE’s clients, the rest of the Board and founding families, and the talented and dedicated staff.”
Reggie will join the organization in January, enabling him to work alongside Greg for a few weeks transition period. His family is relocating from Charleston to Morgantown in June.
