The desire to make people feel their best is just something that comes naturally to Stacy
Roman. Owner of Roman’s Wellness Center. Stacy is also mom to two student athletes.
“Staying physically active is so important,” she shares. “Youth sports have really helped my
kids make fitness part of their lifestyle.”

When Roman learned that access to training facilities for the area’s student athletes was at risk
due to funding, she immediately began thinking about how she could help. She reached out to
Coach Core, who teaches pole vaulting, to understand exactly what the challenges were. “We
want our students to keep goal setting for school records and personal bests. We help them
prepare year round for regional and state championships, so if they want to play through their
college years, they can.”

Access to the Shell Building during the off season from November through February, is key to
students meeting these goals. “Training during this period leads up to the start of the school
spring track season, which goes from March through May,” explains Coach Core. The cost for
access top the Shell Building during the winter months is about $5,500

Roman had already planned to host an open house to introduce the community to two new
needle-free and drug-free pain treatment services she’s added. “I thought, why not make this a
fund-raising event for student athletics and provide pain relief on more than one level” she
laughs.

On Thursday, October 24th, Roman is opening her doors to the community to tour her wellness
center and try these new pain relief treatments for free. “I hope that these fee-free services will
encourage people to donate to the cause,” she explains. Each cash contribution earns donors
entries into drawings for Roman’s Wellness Center gift certificates and a variety of gift baskets.
“Black Bear has donated a terrific basket to support the cause. and Tim’s Log Cabin Grill and
Catering will be here with food for purchase,” she disclosed. “Ten percent of food sales will be
donated to the fund drive.”

The event, which goes from noon until 5 PM, will be at Roman’s Wellness Center,1762 Blue
Horizon Drive, Morgantown, West Virginia, 26501. Roman welcomes contributions and
questions at 304-322-0093. “The event details are also on our Facebook page,” Roman
shared.
