Description
West Virginia Public Theatre is thrilled to announce it will be staging the new play "Did My Grandfather Kill My Grandfather?" by Cody LeRoy Wilson August 21 & 22 in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre in the Canady Creative Arts Center in Morgantown.
"Did My Grandfather Kill My Grandfather?" is a compelling, autobiographical one-man show that follows Vietnamese American actor and playwright Cody LeRoy Wilson’s journey in uncovering his family’s immigration story from Vietnam to America.
Adopted by an American soldier and brought to West Virginia as a baby, Cody’s mother was left with little connection to her homeland, leaving Cody with endless questions. Over the years, he searches for untraceable answers, only to come to the grim fantasy depicting his two grandfathers on opposing sides of the Vietnam War. At its core, the play asks, “What does it mean to be Asian American?” The conclusion Cody has found is complicated, but it is an answer all Americans need to hear and he is excited to share it back in West Virginia.
