Description

Area residents will have an opportunity to learn more about breastfeeding and to show support for the practice with a walk around a city block when the Monongalia County Health Department’s Women, Infants & Child (WIC) program holds the annual Breastfeeding Awareness Walk from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The event will feature area organizations tabling to provide information to members of the community, including pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and their families. New activities this year will be a Mommy & Me yoga session under the pavilion, conducted by Moonbow Wellness, and a table set up with pepperoni rolls, drinks and other goodies provided by Rolling with Mama D mobile food service. The event culminates in a walk around the downtown block to raise awareness about breastfeeding.
