Morgantown magazine and the City of Morgantown are celebrating the 100th birthday of native son Don Knotts and the Metropolitan Theatre July 20–24.

Starting on the eve of Don Knotts’ 100th birthday, the festival will screen a marathon of films featuring the beloved entertainer, who was best known for his five-time Emmy Award–winning role as Barney Fife in “The Andy Griffith Show.” Special guest speakers and performances include award-winning author of “Andy and Me” and Don Knotts’ brother-in-law Daniel de Visé; entertainer and Don Knotts’ nephew Bill Knotts; and illusionist and Don Knotts’ cousin Josh Knotts.

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Businesses and Residents of West Virginia

Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to businesses and residents in West Virginia following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration for severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides that occurred April 11- 12. “SBA’s mission-driven team stands ready to help West Virginia small businesses and residents impacted by this disaster in every way possible under President Biden’s disaster declaration for certain affected areas,” said SBA Administrator.
