Bring the Family to the WVU Farm on June 9th for a Fun Day Learning from Female Farm Scientists

Morgantown, WV - Join Libera, Miss WV & WVU Davis College of Agriculture on June 9th from 1pm - 6pm at the WVU Research Farm in Morgantown for a day of family fun, farm science, and inspirational speakers.

Introduce kids to female scientists making a difference in the world of STEM, the Agriculture industry, and the Mountain State. The event will take place on June 9th from 1pm - 6pm at the WVU Research Education & Outreach Center located at 1400 Stewartstown Rd in Morgantown, WV. Families are invited to come for the whole day or come when they can.

The day will be packed with activities, vendors, speakers, demonstrations, and giveaways! There will be demonstrations from “agricult(her)ists” such as vet techs, horticulturists, agricultural engineers, and soil scientists. Kids will learn about caring for farm animals, testing soil, how to grow healthy plants, and how to operate some of the latest farming technology. Families will also get to tour the WVU Research Farm.
There will be several speakers sharing about ways for kids to get involved in local agriculture activities and about the benefits of agriculture education for youth.

Kids will get to meet and hear from Miss West Virginia 2022, Elizabeth Lynch. Miss West Virginia placed in the top 5 of the Miss America competition and is a passionate educator and promoter of the agriculture industry in WV. Miss WV will read to kids, sign autographs, and share about her journey as an agriculture scientist, farming advocate, and female leader in ag.

Families will also get to check out Libera’s new Lila Bear Explor(her) Club box launching in partnership with Miss WV to educate youth about the world of farming and agriculture.
